How can you 'teach' PCS?

PCS is based on years of educational psychology and research. Its principles offer a method of bringing to life the aims of the Curriculum for Excellence.

We recognise that you as teachers are vital influencers in all young peoples’ lives, and the school community can ensure that the PCS ideals of effort and learning are at the core of a child’s sporting and educational experiences.

As such, we’re inviting you to play your part by fostering positive life-long attitudes towards sport and physical activity.

Within the PCS programme teachers, parents, sports coaches and leaders will work together to create a positive learning environment in and out of school, and help young people become successful learners, confident and responsible individuals and effective contributors.

PCS is delivered to you via live workshops, support materials and an interactive website.

As teachers, PCS will help you learn to:

  • inspire young people to be the best they can be in sport and life.

  • promote the true value of sport in achieving the aims of the Curriculum for Excellence.

  • reinforce our key messages by promoting Positive Coaching Scotland to the other key influencers in the children’s sporting life – parents, coaches, other teachers and sports clubs.

Prepare children for the future with PCS.

"PCS is a wonderful opportunity, through sporting activity, to make a significant impact for the better. The ‘joined up’ working of those who have a key influence in the lives of our young people – parents, teachers, sports coaches and others – gives the programme every chance to be successful in improving the health and well-being of our nation, now and in the future."
