Our Mission

The PCS mission is to change the culture of Scottish youth sport.

We do this by spreading our coaching practices across the sporting spectrum in Scotland, one club, one school, one coach and one child at a time, until the whiole country shares a more positive, winning attitude towards sport and its benefits.

How can you get involved?

We hold workshops and seminars in sports clubs, schools, town halls and leisure centres across Scotland, where we teach the PCS methodology to the 'key influencers' in a child's life - their parents, teachers, coaches and leaders.  Please visit the workshops section of this website to find out where the next workshop near you is being held.

At these workshops we will teach you about the 'Double Goal Coach', the 'ELM Tree of Mastery', 'Filling the Emotional Tank and 'Honouring the Game', and how these simple ideas can change the way you teach sport to young people.  You can find out more about these terms right now by visiting the PCS Key Terms page.

Why is a programme like PCS so important for Scotland?

Because today’s young people are being denied the opportunity to learn vital life lessons through sport.
PCS offers a visionary new approach – a practical alternative to the ‘win at all costs’ mentality and a timely response to the challenges facing youth sport.

Piloted in five Scottish Local Authorities, PCS will engage all of our national governing bodies of sports and targets initially around 75,000 adults and children.

With the help and cooperation of all the parents, teachers, coaches and leaders out there, we are working hard to make Scotland a healthier, happier place for our young people to grow up in.
